His green thumb and love for nature were evident to all who visited him. He found immense joy in tending to his flower garden, where he poured his heart and soul into cultivating beautiful blooms. Outside of his professional life, Jim had a great passion for gardening.

After his military service, he pursued a career as a Power Engineer at AT&T, where he showcased his remarkable skills and dedication for many years until his retirement in 2002. He proudly served as a member of the United States Air Force. Jim graduated from Millersport High School in 1960. Born on June 9, 1942, in Greenwich, CT, the son of the late Otto James and Lillian (Ross) Schimikowsky, Jim was a beloved husband and father whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. “Jim” Schimikowsky, peacefully passed away on July 29, 2023, at the age of 81.
